milestone in the history of GNIMT achievements has been the award of ISO 900I: 2000 certification to the Institute. The certificate stands testimony to the fact that the Institute has assimilated quality systems and procedures in a bid to impart quality education. Keeping in view the demand of the prospective students and their parents the GNIMT became a co-educational Institute from the session 2003 - 2004. The Institute has well-qualified, competent and experienced faculty that lays balanced focus on conceptual clarity and practical orientation of learning. The students receive timely guidance and counseling on various aspects. Since its inception, GNIMTians has made tremendous strides in the field of academics. Nearly half of the top 60 (Maximum) positions in the merit lists declared by the University for the first three BBA & BCA batches of 1997, 98 & 99, were won by GNIMT students. Three out of six Gold Medals awarded by PTU during First Convocation were given to the students of GNIMT. Similarly, three out of 6 Silver Medals were given to GNIMT students who stood second in the University. Likewise GNIMT students also won two out of six Bronze Medals. GNIMTians upheld the trend of outstanding achievements in academics by consistently securing some positions among the top 10 University positions. GNIMT has bagged 29 out of 80 PTU merit positions in May 2005 examination. The students who obtain merit in the University up to top five positions are awarded scholarships. The scholarships are also awarded to the sports persons who obtain position in Inter-College and University level sports competitions. GNIMT is a firm believer of the adage, 'All work and no play makes jack a dull boy.' Participation in sports activities, hence finds a prominent place in the curriculum of our students. The students of GNIMT have captured many proud moments through decisive victories in various inter-college and university level competitions. GNIMT won the overall Championship Trophies in PTU Sports three times in a row. We have also won Athletic, Swimming & Cycling Championship Trophies in women category thrice each. GNIMT students win trophies and bag top positions all the cultural, literary and technical categories in inter-college competitions organized by various management/engineering institutions of P.T.U. “Expressions-2006” a two-day Inter-College management & Technical Fest organized in February 2006 was a great success.

We are the institutional members of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) and Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) and All India Management Association (AIMA). GNIMT was awarded as the Best institute in the northern region and the Best ISTE students chapter for two consecutive Years. The Institute was also declared as the Best ISTE chapter. The Institute bagged B+(A level) ranking by Business India Survey and ALL India Management Association (AIMA) by New Delhi in the Year 2004-05.

The institute is fully equipped with ultra modern facilities that includes audio-visual aids and has air conditioned conference room, class rooms, computer labs and library, besides seminar hall, Presentation room and spacious air cooled auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000.

GNIMT formed Alumni Association in January 2002 to provide its old students a forum to renew their ties with their alma mater & among themselves. Currently 410 students are the members of the association. The associations are being headed by one of the faculty members who is also alumni of the institute. Located in the industrial town of Ludhiana. GNIMT provides a strategic advantage to its students in terms of rich industrial exposure. We have a robust and proactive Training and Placement Cell to impart field training to the students and establish interface with industry for the placement of final year students. The Cell works in co-ordination with the students giving them requisite direction and resources to secure their industrial training and dream jobs. To address the demands of modern education, prominent academicians and industrialists constantly enlighten the students through seminars and workshops. In the light of the changing economic scenario and the burgeoning demand for professionals, the Institute is constantly striving to assimilate the needs of the industry and the urge of professionalism in the youth. 80% of our final year students are already placed. The Institute has developed a Management Development Center (MDC), which facilitates an interface between the Institute & Industry and aims at organizing various Executive/ Management Development short and long-term training programmes apart from various seminars, workshops and Personality Development Programmes that are organized regularly throughout the session. MDC has already organized three Executive Development workshops. GNIMT is the only professional institute that has put all its faculty members & students through two personality development programs run by Mr. Asit Ghosh- a world-renowned motivator & trainer.

The institute is located in Model Town in the heart of Ludhiana city, just 1 km from interstate bus terminal and 2.5 km from Railway Station Ludhiana is one of the most important industrial and business centers of India. It is famous for its bicycle & bicycle components industry, hosiery goods, sewing machine and parts and machine tools industries.
